The Gratitude “Twofer”.
Hi There,
Incredible! Last week’s DRIVEN emailing sure had some fans. The only time I’ve received more responses to an outreach was when my mother passed away. I can’t begin to describe my sense of exhilaration in learning that the message struck a chord with so many readers!
It reminded me of one of my favorite TED Talks, delivered by Drew Dudley about everyday leadership. In his powerful 6-minute delivery, Dudley asked those in the audience to raise their hands if they had an experience wherein “someone said or did something that you feel fundamentally made your life better?” Even my hand shot up, and I was watching on a computer screen! I can think of many instances when someone’s words changed my world. Then Drew followed up with, “How many of you have told that person about it?”. Most hands fell.
Imagine all the people, you included, who are walking around having fundamentally changed someone’s life, and don’t even know it.
Based on how thrilled I was with the acknowledgement I received for my weekly inspirational emailing, I invite you to take a moment now to email, text, phone or write a handwritten letter to one of those people in your life and let them know how profoundly they’ve touched you.
Notice the inner gratitude as you write or speak your truth. Feel it in your bones. Then, recognize that letting the other person know how they’ve changed your life is a gratitude twofer, as the recipient of the message will in-turn become flooded with the joy and humility they deserve for having touched a life.
What do you think? Are you up for it? Feel free to hit ‘reply’ and share with me how it felt!
Cheers!
-Deborah
