Slipping Into Spring!

Following an ambitious February, March was my self-proclaimed month of recovery— just what the resilience coach in me ordered! I restrained my inclination to volunteer to cram in “just one more” activity. Full confession: it was not easy to refrain. But as a reward, I’ve gained clarity about what I used to do reflexively as opposed to intentionally when choosing an action or activity.

March was also the month when some clients launched their RTO (Return To Office) strategies. A mélange of fear, excitement, concern and ambivalence bubbled up as teams shared their thoughts about starting hybrid work.

This is why Changing Conversations for a Changing World, Volume 2 is hitting shelves at exactly the right time. Released on March 16th, this new volume shows 9 of my Conversational Intelligence® colleagues and me each contributing a case study and sharing our virtual experiences, lessons learned, and tools developed for success.

If you are part of a team that’s working in a hybrid fashion or are a coach supporting this dynamic, you may want to invest! Our book provides multiple instances of aspirations, opportunities, and best practices for thriving in the new work paradigm.

In other news, S.E.E.K. Safely, an NPO I work closely with, continues toward the goal in both the New York State Assembly and Senate to get our bill passed in Albany (You can read about Bill S1643 here.) We invite N.Y. State residents to show support for this bill right on the page. By taking a minute to fill out the form, you’ll be taking a huge step toward keeping yourself and your loved ones safe as you seek to live better lives.

As we step into April, which is the last lap of “busy season” for my friends in the world of accounting, I, too, am bracing myself for a challenging yet less severe iteration of February. I’ll be managing the same ambitious coaching roster while facilitating the next round of meetings in the long-term “Co-Create Culture” project that began in December. All this, but minus the move-out of NYC.

I’m intentionally adapting my daily cadence to keep pace with work while gearing up for outdoor activities. This month’s ambition is a weekly hike. And, if I’m lucky, April will present the opportunity to slip the old kayak into the water. After all, self-care is the secret sauce that keeps us resilient and appreciative of life.

And now, as my friend and colleague Michael Roderick would say, “Over to you!”

 1. When you look back on March, what were your highlights and opportunities for growth?

 2. Looking forward to April, how will you manage your energy?

 3. How will you shift your practices as offices re-open and travel increases?

 4. How are you planning to care for yourself as springtime settles in?

Why do I ask these questions? Because life is not a dress rehearsal! I invite you to join me in making THIS spring season one of Intentional Productivity— one of clarity, focus and fulfillment.

Cheers!
-Deborah Goldstein

Hot Off The Press!

Here’s some exciting news! Deborah Goldstein is one of 10 co-authors of a special book that’s just been released: Changing Conversations for a Changing World, Vol 2. Deborah is connected with her co-authors through their beloved community, the C-IQ European Collective— an international group spanning 12 countries and four continents. The book begins with lessons learned during Covid lockdown, while the second half offers tools and processes developed during the pandemic to better navigate a new landscape of hybrid work. Purchase your copy HERE, and witness a replay of the virtual book launch HERE.

Unstress Yourself.

Our friends Galina and Roland Denzel of EatMoveLive52 have gifted us (and you) with a series of free 30-minute videos called "Unstress Your Body". The sessions are both powerful and deeply relaxing. You’ll discover remarkable ways to reduce your stress level during these unpredictable times, from two of the most resourceful health coaches out there. Link to the program HERE, and send the link to a friend who might need some unstressing.

Art Alert!

Our dear C-IQ® colleague, Anita Edvinsson of Sweden, is talented beyond her coaching skills. During Anita’s adulthood, the intuitive notion to dabble in artistic sketch work and watercolor eventually led to her creation of large, unique, colorful acrylic paintings. Each of her artworks emerges organically, with no predestined outcome, which makes them even more fascinating. And this April, Anita’s paintings will be on display in NYC! See them at Art Expo New York, booth 133, from April 7-10, and broaden your artistic horizons. Learn more HERE and consider investing in Anita's art!
