The Varieties of Perspective

Hi There,

As the hazy, crazy days of summer settle in, I’ll be putting the creation of new material on hold for a few weeks. I’d like to use this time instead to reflect back on some of my weekly messages from the relatively recent past, thereby presenting you with a retrospective glimpse at some of DRIVEN’s more engaging offerings on the topic of Perspective.

I’ll start with my DRIVEN message regarding Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace, which hit inboxes on May 11, 2021. Considering all the political blowback related to DEI which has unfolded in the 2+ years since this writing, it makes for a compelling re-read, through a newly informed lens:

Seeing it Their Way: Your Concise DEI Handbook.

Then, on to a more light-hearted musing from August 24, 2021, wherein I contrast the perspectives of a 5-year-old boy with that of my own about “getting older”. This offering shapes up to be more thought-provoking than the predictable, cliché, “you’re-as-old-as-you-feel” type of rumination, and it is guaranteed to brighten your day:

From The Mouths of Babes: Being Kind to Your Older, Wiser Self.

Finally, let me take you back to a misadventure from one summer ago, during the time when I was settling into my new home and learning a valuable lesson in zooming out for a big-picture perspective. On August 9, 2022, I reported in about a dastardly garden invader who drove me to the edge of insanity before I gained a new self-awareness. Learn how I managed to refocus my energy on the positive and avoid the trap of distraction:

I'm Alright!: Seeing the Big Picture Has Its Rewards.

Cheers!
-Deborah
