Reframing at its Finest.
Hi There,
As I prepare to unplug for the holidays THIS Thursday at noon ET, I am reflecting on the year that was 2022. And I feel the need to confess: Despite being a firm believer that experiments never fail (because I always learn from them), my year of exploring “Cadence” left me with many opportunities to grow.
I was going to say I failed miserably, but since I live with a growth mindset, I’ve reframed the statement to, “I sure did learn a lot of lessons from my lack of planning in the effort to explore cadence.”
I discovered that being spontaneous does not work for me. I also realized that my blog ideas, imagined as the thematic framework for the year, often make sense until I attempt to communicate them on paper.
On a positive note, I loved being able to share all kinds of different emotional dimensions. This was powerful because the explorations took place in real time: from experiencing emotional ambivalence, to witnessing my own emotions from a meta-perspective due to stress, to then exploring the self-created concept of emotional equilibrium.
We did share how to make cadence work on your behalf, through taking habits, practices and recovery for your brain, and anchoring them into busy days so your circadian rhythms can inspire your best work.
Now that I confessed some disappointment in myself, I will look forward to exploring my 2023 Word of the Year with more thought and preparation. It will be an exciting time, as DRIVEN will be celebrating 10 years!
In the spirit of the holiday season, we’ll be taking next week to celebrate, relax and reflect. We’ll share a couple of our favorite postings from 2022. Then, on January 3rd, we’ll help you start off 2023 with a bang!
Thanks so much for being with me this year, and witnessing my stream of consciousness each week. You've supported me with so many kind thoughts through your email responses and in-person discussions, and for this I am eternally grateful. Happy Holidays to you!
Cheers!
