DRIVEN Down Memory Lane.

Hi There,

Writing my weekly messages of inspiration and oxytocin sometimes goes smoothly. Frequently, it’s a chore. And while I’m working on reframing my relationship to writing, nothing inspires me more than the kind comments that come my way when messages particularly resonate with you, the readers.

In today’s message are links to four examples from 2022 that accomplished just that. If you missed them, I hope they move you as they did others. And for those of you who appreciated them the first time around, I hope they become even more meaningful with time.

For context, 2022 was an emotional rollercoaster ride for me. The first personal reckoning I faced was when my doctor wanted me to see a breast specialist. I thought it was due to dense breasts (most women sport this condition). But my visit with the specialist became quite stressful, quite fast. Thankfully, the prognosis was boring.

Closely following this stress-inducing experience, I slammed right into the concept of emotional ambivalence. I must confess, I’m still wrestling with some of the bittersweet aspects of life. But thanks to a Kripalu course, I now have a tool to better manage the arc of tension between two ends of a spectrum.

And then there was the incident when I took a heaping spoonful of my own medicine. I was kind of freaking out when a groundhog wreaked havoc in the country garden of our new home. I became obsessed with this critter, and Michael was endlessly amused at having his very own Carl from Caddyshack in the house. That was, until I zoomed out and found perspective using a favorite coaching tool.

Finally, as a devoted student of mindfulness, I shared a sweet scene that touched my spirit and my soul during the early morning hours of an ordinary day.

Thank you for taking a trip down Memory Lane with me. Did you have a favorite DRIVEN message this year? I’d love to know what resonates! And on behalf of everyone at DRIVEN, have a Happy New Year!

PS: On January 3rd, get ready to discover my 2023 WOTY (Word of the Year)!

Cheers!
-Deborah
