DRIVEN Newsletter Dec 6, 2022
Visualizing Your Best Self.
Have you noticed how history repeats itself? Year after year, folks seem surprised by the evolution of time. “I can’t believe it’s the Fourth of July already.” “When did summer end?” “Wow, the holidays are already upon us!” All are familiar sentiments, for sure.
I chuckle each time someone says something to this affect. Firstly, because retail stores start reminding us of December before Halloween. And because I have to refrain from waxing poetic about one of the benefits of mindfulness: Time seemingly slows down.
Honestly, as I look back at November, it’s hard to believe that 30 days could contain so much substance. The most powerful part of this sentiment: I felt neither busy nor rushed during the month. My cadence was well paced, and my practices and habits allowed for full-on participation as well as full recovery.
From a DRIVEN perspective, I’m now officially ensconced in coaching full-time. This is especially exciting because it was my aspiration. I derive great energy from witnessing clients—diamonds in the rough—work to recognize and then realize their aspirations. I can also see my own style evolving.
It's been rewarding to apply what I learned from coaching colleagues during November’s C-IQ Retreat. (What an event that turned out to be!) We co-created an agenda focused on the topic of “Leading with Confidence”, wanting to thread Somatic Practices throughout the weekend.
We even took a field trip to the local farmers’ market where my colleagues chatted with vendors who supplied raw ingredients for our meals. I was in my glory, creating healthy, “Fresh Market” feasts for the group.
The Sunday “report-in” to our EU Collective reinforced the power of our group, since “collective wisdom is greater than the sum of its parts”. Our colleagues reflected on the new tools, insights and “case studies” shared.
All of this activity was in the foreground as I’ve been exploring the concept of Emotional Equilibrium. This idea of constant centering is still evolving, and I practiced it in many dimensions during this month of Gratitude.
Looking forward to December, it’s time to wrap up the year and consider what 2023 will reveal. I’ll set my annual aspirations with the help of my treasured Clever Fox Weekly Planner Pro. This constant companion allows for both proactive thinking and reflection in areas of Health & Fitness, Business & Career, Personal Development, Finance, Recreation, Spirituality, Family & Friends, and even Romance.
I get to track my progress monthly. This type of planning helps me steer toward my vision of my best self. Consider checking out “the Fox” yourself to ensure living intentionally.
My annual ritual of aspirational planning sets me up to pay attention each day. The reward comes when change is visible due to “compound interest” over the year. So, during December, I invite you to take the time to consider your life and how you can move toward self-acceptance and an aspirational 2023!
Cheers!
