DRIVEN Newsletter Dec 1, 2020
The Clarity of Hindsight.
November was certainly a wild ride for all of us, as I’m sure I don’t need to explain. Hopefully, it ended for you with a pleasant Thanksgiving, or a creatively safe substitution thereof.
Looking back through the DRIVEN lens, November featured a weekly examination of Emotional Resilience, with physical, mental and spiritual energies as the support system. I started with an alert about your possible pandemic slowdown in Physical Energy by indicating how Stillness is the new Smoking. That’s right— even for those of you who (wisely) use a standup computer station! Link HERE if you missed the full message.
We then shifted over to Mental Energy, which, as knowledge workers, we need to be vigilant about protecting. But with some practical psychological restructuring, we have the power to make these times much more manageable. Link HERE to be reminded of some clever ideas that we and our clients put forward to help you begin and end your virtual workday effectively.
Finally, we then tackled the maintenance of our Spiritual Energy by suggesting ways that you can express appreciation for others and yourself leading up to our holiday of Giving Thanks. Read the message HERE and discover some small ways to turn each challenging day into "thanks-giving"!
Looking ahead to December’s focus, we’ll look back in hindsight and use this retrospective as we enter 2021. So, although the year’s coming to an end, DRIVEN's year-long pursuit of Clarity is not over yet! Expect a few more weekly musings, loaded with valuable tools and tips to keep you on-track in your journey. Start with this week’s Blog Article, which reviews how I’ve intentionally monitored and maintained my emotional wellbeing throughout 2020. And expect those weekly check-ins to keep arriving, right up to the moment when I announce my Word of the Year for 2021!
For DRIVEN, this month also includes some exciting deliveries: A Mindfulness workshop, my favorite Confidence workshop with RSM in Boston, and continued work with additional companies who are serious about embedding DE&I into their cultural DNA.
This holiday season, which will be far from conventional, remember to keep these tenets of Resilience in your personal arsenal. Engage in the kindness and empathy that you’ve come to expect from others. And most importantly, let common sense guide your decisions and interactions, contributing to a safe and healthy entry into the new year. I’ll join you there!
Cheers!

Make Somebody’s Holiday
We’ve just sailed past Black Friday, and now comes the stress of finding gifts for the people in your life who already have everything. Here are three things we know people can use more of: Time, Focus and Personal Fulfillment. If you agree, let DRIVEN take care of the rest! We’ve created a self-paced, 12-principle online course that helps people envision how they want their lives to be and make that vision a reality using actionable, fun tools. We call it Intentional Productivity because the principles shared will allow for full focus during work, freeing up headspace for people to be fully present for all aspects of their lives. Learn more HERE and purchase IP:12 using the handy Gift Option.
Forbes Galore!
As a professional, did you know that pursuing your hobbies can help inform your business decisions by putting your mind into a perceptive space? During this age of virtual meetings, did you realize the communications challenges you face can be overcome in creative ways? These are the kinds of questions that members of the Forbes Coaches Council give valuable insight on, and their advice can be game-changing, whether you’re a coach or any other kind of entrepreneur. And DRIVEN founder Deborah Goldstein is among the contributors to two recent columns exploring these very topics. Read them HERE and HERE.
Get Charitable. It's Fun!
DRIVEN’s favorite non-profit organization SEEK Safely will hold its annual fundraiser event virtually this year on Friday Dec 4th, at 7pm. Stream the event on Facebook or Youtube, which will feature a discussion about This Sweet Life, the new memoir written by Kirby Brown’s mother and sister following her tragic death. DRIVEN founder Deborah Goldstein will be a part of the event, leading you through a virtual wine tasting and a Moment of Mindfulness. Plus, don’t forget to register for the online auction, which is already under way. Learn more HERE. Your support will help protect self-help consumers from the dangerous frauds that led to our loss of Kirby.
