Finding The Fast Track To Success.

The year is young, but it’s been an active time of investigating ideas for seeing others’ points of view. This entails creating Space for productive conversations. This is central to the theme championed by the late C-IQ® founder Judith E. Glaser in her award-wining book Creating We, where she reveals how top-down leadership is becoming a dinosaur. Judith argues that “…Leaders need to learn how to involve their entire organizations in strategizing for success.” How amazed she would have been if she’d lived to see this paradigm play out during our current pandemic-era corporate role shift!

January had also featured my discovery of a moving podcast interview from Barack Obama by Brené Brown, wherein he discusses how he made decisions as President, and how the paradox of leadership means you must respect what your opponent is thinking and saying. This applies aptly to workplace relationships, where solutions are reached only after everyone feels heard, respected and counted.

Additionally, we explored how not all conversations can be positional, and how when they’re co-created, not only does it tear down the roadblocks to a solution, it actually feels good! Link HERE to learn about a ten-minute exercise you can do with a partner to discover the magic of co-creation.

Finally, my esteemed colleague Carina Vinberg introduced me to a new tool for understanding one’s own values, and then turning those values into effective engagement as a fast track to workplace trust. If you want to learn more about this tool and take it out for a test ride, Carina will be hosting an informational webinar on February 12th. Register by sending a message to carina.vinberg@framgangare.se.

Looking forward, DRIVEN will be exploring Black History through the eyes of black Americans. Due to our individual biases, we each see the world through different eyes, including those of our history teachers and textbooks back in school. Start the exploration with us by reading my recent blog article HERE.

Additionally, I’d like to share a resource that’s designed to help you move your business to the next level. The Doing Business Better Summit was developed by my colleague Ashley Barnum, and features 21 virtual expert interviews related to mindset, overwhelm, time management, productivity and leadership. Reclaim your freedom and start running your business and life on your terms, with results. Registration is free. AND, I'm one of the experts! Learn more and register HERE

As usual, we are off and running!

Cheers!

Protect Your Freedom of Pet Choice.

If you are a New Yorker who’s considering adding a new furry creature to your family during the dark days of our pandemic, consider this: NYS Bill S1130 is currently in committee, and if successful, will amend an agriculture & markets law, thereby shutting down all legitimate pet retailers in the State permanently, leaving adoption as the ONLY choice. We at DRIVEN are pet lovers, and acknowledge that pet rescues are a preferential option for many reasons. But we are also lovers of our freedom to choose. If this predicament strikes a chord with you, learn more about the bill on nysenate.gov, and voice your concern to your senators promptly.

A Toast To Our Girl.

DRIVEN’s favorite non-profit charity SEEK Safely has something fun and celebratory for you to engage in, right from your own home! Next Monday, February 8th, will be the annual Birthday Toast to Kirby Brown— our dear friend whom we lost tragically nearly 12 years ago. Join the Zoom event at 8pm, pour your drinks, prepare your Kirby stories, and share a photo or video of your salute to our girl. If you can't join us at that time, post your toast on Facebook or Instagram and tag it #HappyBirthdayKirby. Donations are not required but are always appreciated. Learn more about Kirby on the event's Facebook page or at seeksafely.org.

Now, It's Your Turn!

Intentional Productivity, DRIVEN’s new 12-module e-course, has had an undisputable impact on so many of its users, like Rachel Bull, who gives us this testimonial: "You are, of course, right that change takes time and can be difficult. I am now on unit 4 of the Intentional Productivity course, and I wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying it very much and have a feeling of having a bit more of a path in front of me, rather than skating around all over the place. The image that comes to mind is walking a steep but clear hiking trail with a guide rope rather than an iced-over lake surface in sneakers. I hope you can imagine what I mean.” You bet we can, Rachel. As for everyone else, it’s time to make your move. Purchase your copy of IP:12 today and expect results!
